Yokusaka, Fascinating! I was 17.7 yrs old, a street kid from Newark, N.J. who's family moved to Beverly Hills in June 56, now That was a culture shock in and of itself. Although I never got further than AOAN, I still look back now on the days on the "Shang", and pass on some sea stories to my grandsons. In closing, I'm proud to have been associated with a Naval Rating of Aviation Ordinance, and for those who have served before and to those who are serving now, all branches wherever you are, a heartfelt, Hand Salute!!
