AOAN Darren E. Tate

In memory of Darren Tate, 21, of Canyon, Texas who died of pneumonia July 8, 2009 at Bagram Air Base. He had joined the Navy in 2006 after graduating from Canyon High School and was assigned to the USS Iwo Jima. Darren Tate was born Nov. 25, 1987, in San Bernardino, Calif., to Larry and Barbara Tate. He attended Randall High School as well as Canyon High School, where he graduated in 2006. After high school, Darren joined the U.S. Navy and was an active duty aviation ordnance airman. Darren was on temporary assignment in Afghanistan.
